After securing a second place starting position in qualifying, Adam Christodoulou was first in the car in the 70-minute race.

Despite losing ground after being overtaken into Turn One, a Safety Car intervention for the #777 Olimp Racing Audi allowed for Adam to fight his way to the top of the field.

Adam then headed to the pits, switching over with teammate Reema, with 27minutes remaining on the clock.

On her return to the circuit, Reema ran wide in Turn Nine on the cold tyres, ending up in the barriers on the right hands side.

The car suffered extensive damage, meaning the crew were left to work on repairing the car, and forcing the team to retire from the race and withdraw from Race Two.

“I’m very disappointed for our race to end in this way, especially after we showed so much promise over the first half. Adam delivered a strong result in qualifying and put us in a good position at the end of the first stint before I took over for the final third. I was pushing on my out lap and ran wide in Turn Nine. This caused the car to lose traction and snap and I hit the wall. Unfortunately, because the damage is extensive we will be unable to repair the car in time for Race Two. Time to regroup.”
